Stone Sack
Born out of frustration with seeing large stone sacks made from Polypropelene blowing into ditches around construction sites, I began experimenting with the weave that enables an in-tact stone sack to carry around two tonnes of rocks.
The material is very prone to fraying and once ripped the sack quickly loses its durability leaving it destined for the dumps.
Using specific heat treatments, the material abilities can be manipulated to a tighter weave introducing a myriad of new opportunities.
The altered weave can also be manipulated into a material with shock-absorbing properties.
